Here is another study in animating characters in After Effects
Here is a little Birthday invite I created
In my downtime, I play around with Cinema 4D. Here, I’m working on texturing, lighting and rendering this antiquity robot girl.
This is my first stab at animating in Photoshop – so far I like it and am excited about the possiblities!
In my downtime I play around with different ideas and styles. Here is an animated illustration.
In my downtime I was playing around with creating a character walk cycle in AE.
Here are some ideas I have been exploring while learning Cinema 4D. The photo of the girl is not mine – I was just exploring camera projection and trying to make crystals grow out of it.
Spanning from January to October 2012, I was honored with the opportunity to work with Michael Tilson Thomas and the New World Symphony on a audio visual experience. I was commissioned to animate an original piece to a live performance of Stravinksy’s Circus Polka. The animation was projected onto 5 unique sails surrounding the auditorium which was designed by Frank Gehry. It was also projected on the 3000 sq. ft. wall outside the building for people to enjoy with a picnic, family, and pets. This is a recording of the projected exterior piece. I am very proud of this moment, and was truly honored to be a part of such a unique opportunity.
I thought it was really cool to get to take a bow on stage with all of those talented people!
So, for our wedding, I wanted to create a “Save the Date” that was unique and represented Jamey and I. At first, I only thought of designing some sort of logo, but then I thought, why stop there? I’m an animator, why not make a flipbook where our logo animates on and provides the date and place information! So, combining all of these ideas, this project was born. Since Jamey is a rocket scientist (Aerospace Engineer), I have him standing on a planet with a rocket orbiting about it. Since I am an artist, I am standing on a palette with paint brushes.
I had a lot of fun designing and animating this. Jamey was also very helpful in planning out the particular specifications (size, how to fasten the book togehter – [I think the metal bolts speak to his engineering background], etc). We also got a lot of great feedback from our guests saying how much they loved these flipbook save the dates. 🙂
